You will check into your hotel and then head off to the Djemaa el-Fna, the center square of the medina. The famous Djemaa el-Fna, is one of the center attractions of Marrakech. Coming alive at night with local storytellers, entertainers, and mouth-watering barbeque pits, the square is well worth the visit. Stop At: Marrakech Souk, Marrakech, Marrakech-Tensift-El Haouz Region Today's tour of Marrakech begins with a trip to the iconic Koutoubia Mosque, home to the minaret which has become a symbol of the city. We then visit the Saadian Tombs and the Bahia Palace which hosts intricate and beautiful Arabic craftsmanship in the lively souks around Jemaa El Fna square. Home to many different types of traders these bustling and aromatic streets are uniquely Moroccan. After lunch break, we head to Majorelle Gardens, where the morning light illuminates the vibrant colours of the architecture, set vividly against the lush green vegetation. Continue to Menara Garden for a stroll through the peaceful site.
Stop At: Old Medina of Casablanca, Casablanca, Grand Casablanca Region After breakfast we leave Marrakech behind and head to the coastal city of Casablanca. We'll have a day of sightseeing. Walk around the Habous district, where the small squares and narrow arcade streets provide a fine example of contemporary city planning mixed with the maze-like streets of the traditional medina. Continue towards United Nations Place and the majestic Mohammed V Square. Then, go to the lively Central Market and the surrounding Royal Palace. Explore the colorful Habous Quarter and the Mehkma (Tribunal). Visit the Notre Dame de Lourdes cathedral and the famous Hassan II Mosque to experience 2 religious epicenters of the city. End with a pleasant stroll through the residential area of Anfa and shop in the newly built Morocco Mall on the seafront.
Stop At: Rabat Old Town, Rabat, Rabat-Sale-Zemmour-Zaer Region This morning we journey to the capital Rabat. Strategically located on the Atlantic coastline, Rabat began as a settlement in the third century BC. This morning we enjoy a tour of the old city including visits to the Royal Palace, Ouadaya Gardens Kasbah and the Hassan Tower Mosque.Duration: 3 hours Stop At: Meknes Medina, Meknes, Meknes-Tafilalet Region After lunch break, we drive to the Berber town of Meknes. Formerly the capital of Morocco during the reign of Moulay Ismail, he transformed the town, constructing intricate gateways, beautiful gardens and at 40m the largest ramparts in the countryDuration: 2 hoursStop At: Volubilis, Meknes-Tafilalet RegionNext is ancient Roman city of Volubilis. Recently listed as a UNESCO world heritage site and dating back as far as AD40, Volubilis is home to some of the most impressive Roman ruins in North Africa. We finish the day with a short drive to the mediaeval city of Fez.
Stop At: Fez Mellah, Fes, Fes-Boulemane Region After breakfast you will begin our guided tour of the Fes medina, one of the world’s largest walled in cities. Visit to foundouk Najjarine which houses the ‘Museum of Wooden Arts and Crafts. Visit to the Qaraouiyine mosque,which is both a university and a mosque situated in the heart of the Medina. UNESCO has named it the oldest continuously functioning educational institution in the world. See the city’s tannery, a fascinating place that is the largest tannery in Africa. Visit the Mellah or Jewish Quarter and the old Ibn Danan Synagogue, dating from the 17th century. After lunch break, we will resume the tour and return to your hotel.
Stop At: Ifrane National Park, Ifrane, Meknes-Tafilalet Region After an early breakfast, you will depart for Marrakech via Ifrane and Ouzoud Waterfalls. The beautiful drive will take you up into the Middle Atlas Mountains and along the base of the High Atlas Mountains. Along the way we'll make a short stop in beautiful Ifrane Duration: 45 minutesStop At: Cascades d'Ouzoud, Ouzoud, Tadla-Azilal RegionDrive to Ouzoud waterfalls and enjoy a walk down along the cascades, relax to the sound of the falls, enjoy a picnic lunch or visit one of the many cafés and restaurants. After a restful and relaxing afternoon, you’ll head back to Marrakech. Overnight in Marrakech.
